GRAPHICS

Graphics Software is otherwise known as Image Editing Software. It is a Program or Collection of Programs that enable a Person to Manipulate Visual Images on a Computer. Computer graphics are two types: TWO – DIMENSIONSIONAL & THREE- DIMENSIONAL.

Two Dimensional graphics comes into two Flavors, They are

1.    Raster graphics

2.   Vector graphics

       Many graphics programs focus exclusively on either Vector graphics or Raster graphics.

Computer graphics also can be used by other editing software Such as Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Publisher, Picasa etc.

       The use of Swatch is a palette of active colours that are selected and rearranged by the preference of the user. A swatch may be used in a program or be part of the universal palette or an operating system. It is used to change the colour of a text or image editing.

        Three- Dimensional graphics started to become popular in 1990. By the year 200,there are many video games had began incorporating 3D graphics.

  Image editing encompasses the process of altering images, Whether they are digital photographs, or illustrations. Traditional analog image editing is known as photo re touching. The mainly using tools are airbrush which is used to modify photographs. Graphics software programs which cn be broadly grouped into vector graphics editors. Raster elements are stored in the computer in the form of grid.

       Graphics ediors or photo editors ranges from simple to complex. Graphics editing software example; GIMP and PHOTOSHOP.

GIMP

•      GIMP means GNU image manipulation program.

•      GIMP is a free and open- source raster graphics editor. It is used for image retouching and editing. It is used for free form drawing. It is used for re sizing and cropping. It is used for converting between different image formats, and more specialized tasks.

•             GIMP began in 1995 as the school project of two universities. GIMP is a full – fledged application. It is available on all distributions of LINUX and Microsoft windows-XP.

•            GIMP is expandable and extensible. GIMP is designed to be augmented with plug-ins and extension in order to improve its functionality. Many tools that can be used for editing images in GIMP. Mainly

Gimp also Provides ‘Smart tools’ that use a more complex algorithms to do things that otherwise wouild be time consuming or impossible. There include:

. Dodge and burn tool is abrush that makes target pixels lighter or darker.

. Perspective close tool, Which works like the clone tool but corrects for distance changes.

VIDEO EDITING

“VIDEO EDITING” is the process of editing Segments of motion video production footage.
